How it Works

BROWSE
Look through the list of Superlambananas that are on offer. Click on any of the lots to view more detailed information, including a larger image and condition reports. The current price at which the bidding stands will be displayed next to each lot. Please be aware that this price is then subject to VAT.

REGISTER
In order to place a bid you must register with the site. The registration form takes a couple of minutes to complete, and requires you to upload a scan of your drivers licence / passport, and a utility bill no more than 3 months old. If you are purchasing on behalf of a company, you will be required to upload a document that shows the company name, address and registration details on company letterhead. Once you have submitted your registration form an activation e-mail will be sent to you from AuctionYourProperty.com confirming that your details have been received. Once your information has been checked you will receive another e-mail from Auction Your Property.com stating that you are now a registered user and you can commence with your bidding.

BID
Select the lot that you would like to place a bid on by clicking on the associated Superlambanana name. Click the tab labelled "place a bid". You will then be asked to place your maximum bid. Once you have registered your maximum bid the online bidding system will bid on your behalf in increments until you are either the winning bidder or up to your maximum amount. You are able to increase your maximum bid at any time, however you are unable to withdraw a bid unless a written agreement with Sutton Kersh is made stating otherwise. We advise that bidders monitor the auction throughout its 7 day duration. The auctions will commence at 12 noon on Tuesday 16th September and will close between 12pm and 2:45pm on Tuesday 23rd September. The auction operates in a similar format to ebay auctions and bidders are strongly advised to set their maximum bid to the true maximum amount they are willing to pay, and to monitor the auction in the closing stages to ensure that they are not beaten without being having the opportunity to challenge.

You can find more information about registration and login in our FAQ.

Bidding
Bidders need to be registered members (registration is free). Then, at any time during the auction week, bidders can log in to their account and place a maximum bid. This bid must be higher than the current top bid.

Maximum Bids
Your maximum bid is the maximum amount you'd be willing to pay for the auction lot. This amount is registered with AuctionYourProperty.com and kept confidential from other bidders and the seller.

Please note that your maximum bid is not necessarily the amount you will pay. As long as your maximum bid is higher than anyone else's, you will only pay one increment above the next highest maximum bid.

For example, if you register a maximum bid of £5,000 and the next highest maximum registered bid at the end of the auction is £4,000, then the lot is sold to you at £4,050 in line with the bidding increments as follows:

Bidding Increments
Bid valueBidding Increments of
£0 - £1,000£10
£1,000 - £5,000£50
£5,000 - £10,000£100
£10,000 - £25,000£250
£25,000 +£500

So, for an auction with a starting price of £1,000 the bidding increases in increments of £50 until it hits £5,000 at which point the next allowed bid becomes £5,100.

This bidding system means that you can leave your maximum bid and not have to keep coming back to re-bid every time another bid is placed. It also protects the current high bidder from being outbid just as the auction is drawing to a close.

Please note: If you enter a figure that does not follow the correct bidding increments as detailed above, we will adjust your bid by rounding it down to the next valid bidding increment. For example, if you submit a maximum bid of £3,199 - this will be registered as a bid of £3,150.

Being Outbid
If you are the current high bidder and another bidder registers a higher maximum bid than you, then you will be automatically outbid. If you are outbid you will be sent an email informing you of such and you will be invited you to increase your maximum bid.

Maximum bids can be increased throughout the day if necessary right up to the close of the auction.

Tied Bids
If two or more bidders enter the same maximum bid then the bidder who entered it first will be registered as bidding that amount.

eg. If Bidder A and Bidder B both enter maximum bids of £5,000 but Bidder A was first, then the bid would jump to £5,000 in favour of Bidder A. Bidder B would then be invited to make an increased bid in the usual fashion.

Bid Retraction
AuctionYourproperty.com does not allow the retraction of bids. Bidders should make sure they enter the amount carefully and check it before submitting.

Bidding Tip
NB - It is common for bids to be submitted at the very last minute by shrewd bidders hoping to place their bids in the dying seconds of the auction so that other bidders will not have time to react. Therefore, we strongly advise that you enter, as your maximum, the highest possible amount that you are prepared to bid to. This way you will not be outbid at the last second by an amount that you yourself would have been prepared to pay.

The End of the Auction
If the reserve price is at least met or bettered by the highest bidder then the auction lot is sold and the winning bid is the official price of the lot.

Please Note: If the lot is sold, as soon as the auction is over a legally binding agreement is formed between the seller and the winning bidder.

  • Once the auction ends, the winning bidder receives a confirmation email from AuctionYourProperty.com. This email will confirm the final price and gives the winning bidder payment details to complete their purchase. The payment must be made within 48 hours of the end of auction. It is at this point at which AuctionYourProperty.com steps out of the sale.
  • Winning bidders must arrange collection of their purchased Superlambanana by 30th September. Purchasers will be liable to pay storage costs of £20 per day from this date. Failure to collect a lot by 31st October will result in Wild in Art retaining possession and ownership of the Superlambanana.
